Esports Night & Bleed Green

This week, CSU's Esports team hosted Esports Night at the Viking Public House! Friends, family, players, and supporters gathered to see our players compete while also enjoying some delicious food and drinks. Back inside the facility, CSU Esports hosted their Bleed Green event, an event held by all CSU athletic teams. Athletes from across CSU joined the team for an evening of gaming, conversation, and bonding. Everyone, dressed in CSU green, gathered to show their school spirit and have a fun night.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to show your support to our players and our program! 💚🎮

Overwatch & Smash GLEC Tournament at Baldwin Wallace

On March 29th, CSU’s Smash Ultimate and Overwatch Green teams travelled to Baldwin Wallace University to play a few GLEC matches. CSU competed with Baldwin Wallace University, Heidelberg University, and the University of Mount Union.

CSU showed off their skills going undefeated for the day. CSU’s Smash team won both of their games for the day, going 2-1, and 2-0.

Additionally, CSU’s Overwatch Green team won both of their games for the day aswell, going 3-0 both games.

The team had a great time getting to hang out and compete with their fellow Northeast Ohio teams. Thank you for the great games and thank you BW for having us! 💚🧡💜💛

League of Legends Plays at GA: LoL - Spring 2025 Summoners Series in Columbus

Also on March 29th, CSU’s League of Legends team played at Game Arena in Columbus, Ohio, for the Spring 2025 Summoners Series. The day was filled with fun games, talented gameplay, and lots of team bonding! Special shout-out to CSU’s mid laner, Rocco S., aka Kaizix, for some sweet plays and an awesome pentakill! Great job to all of the teams and to our CSU League of Legends team! Thank you, Game Arena, for having us! 🎮

Talking Physical Health with the Cleveland Clinic

This week, the Cleveland Clinic paid CSU’s Esports team another visit to discuss our athletes physical health. Dr. Drew Schwartz and Jason Cruickshank joined us to talk about ways for our athletes to take care of their physical health while gaming. Some of the important topics discussed included proper breathing techniques between games, standing up and stretching for more blood flow to the brain, focusing on back muscle groups while working out to increase blood flow, and walking for at least 30 minutes every day. CSU’s Esports team is committed to maintaining healthy and active lifestyles alongside gaming. Huge thank you to the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Drew Schwartz, and Jason Cruickshank for providing us with useful information to keep our team healthy!
