Midgard Mayhem #11

The CSU smash team is back at it again with Midgard Mayhem #11! Every month, Super Smash Bros players from all over the Midwest gather to compete in Midgard Mayhem, proudly hosted by the CSU Esports team, with a large prize pool available for both singles and doubles. We had another great turnout this time around, with over 70 participants competing for a cash prize of over $400! Congratulations to “Dice” from Michigan State University for his first Midgard win! Thanks to everyone who came out to play with us, and we’re excited to see you next month! 🎮

Street Fighter Biweekly Tournaments

CSU has exciting news for any fighting game fans: Starting on October 26th, our Street Fighter team will begin hosting biweekly in-person tournaments here at CSU. These tournaments will not only host Street Fighter 6, but also Tekken, 2XKO, and Guilty Gear Strive.

Congratulations to CSU’s Overwatch Varsity team for qualifying for the Queen City Clash (QCC) tournament! Out of 35 teams, CSU is the 6th seed.

Matthew Lam, "Zekuu," League of Legends

Meet Matthew Lam, aka “Zekuu”. Matt is originally from Parma, Ohio, and is currently a senior majoring in Computer Science here at Cleveland State. Matt plays League of Legends for the team, recently securing a massive pentakill against Ohio Wesleyan, winning the series 2-0! Some of Matt’s hobbies include lifting and drinking boba, and he also assists in managing workouts for the team. We’re glad to have Matt here, and we’re all looking forward to the next penta! 💚

Bader al Bader, "Devil," League of Legends

Meet Bader al Bader, aka “Devil.” Bader is a senior on CSU’s League of Legends team. He is majoring in mechanical engineering and is from Saudi Arabia. He enjoys doing for-fun detective work, and while he may not have any tournament achievements yet, he’s highly ranked in any game he plays. We can’t wait to see that carry over into some high-level gameplay here at CSU.
