CSU Esports Smash Team takes on Riptide!

On September 5th, CSU’s Smash team attended Riptide, a Super Smash Bros tournament and convention at Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky, Ohio. The event was the largest collegiate Smash event yet, with 43 colleges competing! The entire team had an amazing time hanging out and playing some intense games! 🎮💚

CSU’s Smash team finished 1st place in the silver bracket for Smash Crews!

Midgard Mayhem #10

CSU’s Midgard Mayhem #10 just recently passed, and everyone had a blast! With 90 people showing up, the afternoon was filled with tough competition, exciting matches, and plenty of good times together. Congratulations to our first-place winner, “IcyMist”! We can’t wait to see you join us for Midgard Mayhem #11 on September 28th! 🎮

Valorant Varsity Team Wins First GLEC Match

Congrats to CSU’s Valorant Varsity Team on winning their first match of GLEC in a 2-0 victory!

Shoutout to CSU’s Director of Broadcast Production — Christian Davis

Christian is CSU Esports’ Director of Broadcast Production. He works closely with student workers to keep the team’s streams running and improving. For work outside of CSU Esports, Christian is a licensed low-voltage electrical inspector and an Arc-Flash certified electrician with a mechanical background. In his free time, Christian enjoys hiking and playing Pokémon, racing games, and survival-oriented games. Without Christian, production here at CSU would be nothing like what it is today. Thank you for all your hard work, Christian! 💚

Meet Marissa O’Connor, aka “umi.” Marissa is a freshman majoring in studio art from Painseville, Ohio. She is a smokes player on CSU’s Valorant Academy team. In her free time, Marissa enjoys coaching gymnastics! Fun fact: Marissa is starting a grassroots organization and sending her Valorant team out to a LAN in Las Vegas! We are so happy to have you as a member of our team, Marissa! Looking forward to the season to come!💚🎮
