Helheim 2026

March 28th and 29th marked the debut of Helheim, a Smash Ultimate tournament hosted by none other than Cleveland State University’s Esports program. Players and collegiate teams traveled from across the United States to compete in singles, doubles, redemption ladder and crew battles. Taking place in Cleveland State's very own Student Center, the energy was electric! With over 200 attendees, the event was filled with exciting matchups and close games. Including the country's top competitors as well as growing players, Helheim brought together a wide range of talent, all sharing the same love and dedication for the game.

Huge shoutout to Cleveland State University’s Smash Ultimate team and all those who came out to help make the event as amazing as it was. CSU looks forward to hosting Helheim again next year, where they hope to see the same passionate energy that was seen this year. 💚🎮

CSU’s Overwatch Varsity Team Takes Second Place in Kentucky Bluegrass Showdown

Our Overwatch Varsity team has been running all over the country this semester, and their latest stop was the Kentucky Bluegrass Tournament on March 21st-22nd! Bringing the Overwatch Academy team along for the ride, both teams competed among 16 universities from all over the nation. Our Varsity team made their way through their first three games like Symmetra through a teleporter, securing their place in the grand finals against Bellevue University. It was a stimulating game, with Bellevue coming out on top and our Varsity team securing 2nd place. Although our academy team didn’t make it quite as far, they very much enjoyed the learning experience, and both teams and our directors all enjoyed an outdoor barbecue at their AirBnb. We look forward to returning to Kentucky for another thrilling series next year! 💚
