Professional Development Meeting

On June 30th, teachers from 18 different high schools came to CSU to learn about esports from Director PJ Farrell. This was a professional development meeting facilitated by CSU's Center for Computing, Education, and Instructing (CCEI)— one of many available sessions held over the summer for high school teachers. The lecture lasted five hours and reviewed esports leadership, student involvement and recruitment, and community building. There was also time for teachers to try out various games themselves, including Marvel Rivals, Valorant, and Overwatch. This is just one part of how the CSU esports program continues to work with various communities and institutions in order to improve and expand esports programs throughout Northeast Ohio. 💚

Patrick Farrell, "K3rrigan," Overwatch

Meet Patrick Farrell, aka “K3rrigan.” Hailing from our home base of Cleveland, Pat is an upcoming freshman majoring in computer science with a minor in mathematics. He will be playing Flex DPS for our Overwatch Academy team, who have all expressed much excitement in welcoming him to the crew! In his free time, Pat enjoys playing lacrosse, board games, and spending time with his friends. One of his favorite esports moments is going to state championships with his high school team at Holy Name. We are all stoked to welcome Pat to the esports program and are looking forward to all of his future POTGs. Welcome to CSU, Pat!💚
