GLEC 2025 Spring Finals

This past weekend, CSU’s Esports team drove down to South Bend, Indiana, for the 2025 GLEC Spring Finals! We had a great time playing some challenging games, chatting with other teams and directors, and getting to bond as a team. This tournament was an awesome closing to our season!

CSU’s Smash Ultimate team finished second place overall in the GLEC 2025 Spring Finals! The game was a nailbiter. each game coming down to one stock. Great work, Smash team!

CSU’s Overwatch Green team finished second place overall in the GLEC 2025 Spring Finals! It was a tough final game, but we played strong and put up a great fight! Awesome job, Overwatch Green!

CSU’s Rocket League team finished fifth place in the 2025 GLEC Spring Finals! After a disappointing first-round exit, they were able to rack up 3 wins to finish off the tournament. Way to go, Rocket League team!

CSU’s League of Legends Team Qualifies for NECC Nationals

CSU’s Valorant White Team Finishes 2nd in CVAL Open Finals

Additionally, CSU’s Valorant White team has qualified for CVAL Open Division Championship, competing against 16 other teams.

CSU Athletic Honors Lunch

On April 2nd, CSU’s esports team joined the other 17 athletics teams to celebrate our students who received honors awards in the Fall 2024 semester. On our team alone, 19 students had a 3.35 or above, and 4 students had a 4.0 or above. Here at CSU, academics come first, and we are so proud of our players and honored to have such intelligent and hard-working students on our team! Great job, team! We are excited to see how great everyone does in the spring! 💚

Sean Brown, "Aqualad2012," League of Legends

Meet Sean Brown, aka “Aqualad2012.” Sean is a senior chemical engineering major from North Canton, Ohio. He is a support player on CSU’s League of Legends team, usually playing Rakan, Renata, Glasc, or Seraphine. Sean has also been on CSU’s Esports team since its inception back in 2022! After graduating this spring, Sean is hoping to work in the US Patent Office. In his free time, Sean enjoys reading and swimming (where else would the gamertag come from?)! Thank you so much, Sean, for your loyalty and dedication to the program! We appreciate each memory and everything you’ve brought to the team! We’ll miss you, Sean! 💚🎮
